WILLIAMSPORT — Marvin G. Dare, 64, Williamsport, died at 12:02 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000 in Country Care Nursing Center, Williamsport. He was born Jan. 10, 1938 in Danville, Ill., the son of Harold E. and Mildred Bertha Hanna Dare. He never married. He was a graduate of Perrysville High School, class of 1955, and a resident of Perrysville until 1963, where he was owner and operator of Town and Country Restaurant before moving to Texas. He owned and operated a Burger Chef in Beaumont, Texas. He was owner and operator of a Burger Chef, Mc. D's Donuts and The Flower Pot, all in Galveston, Texas. He returned to the Covington area in 1981 and was the produce manager at the Covington IGA until 1989. He moved to Arizona in 1989 and remained there until 1997, residing in the Yuma, Ajo, Globe and Thatcher areas. He returned to the Covington area late in 1997. He had been seriously ill the past year and been a patient at Country Care Nursing Center, Williamsport, for three months. Survivors include: two brothers, Donald D. (Barbara) Dare, Williamsport and Wayne E. (Peggy) Dare, Covington; a sister, Delores A. Wilson, Ft. Irwin, Calif.; an aunt, Berneice Vaughan, Kingman; an uncle, Harold Hanna, Perrysville; two nephews; four nieces; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Lower Mound Cemetery, Covington. Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, is in charge of arrangements. – jlr
